Anesthesia Today was first published for 20 copies in February 2000 for the first year anesthesiology residents at NYPH-Cornell. It was made by me with a strong intention to motivate the academic environment without taking extra time from the OR. At the begining, I hope that the other first year residents will participate in writing, reading and sharing the knowledges. But until now I am still the only author and has established myself as an editor. I plan to make the magazine montly but id did not succeed due to the regular resident's workload and my intention to do it as a hobby(not a serious job). The second issue was released in March 2000 after I recieved a huge inspiration from the compliments of the first one. The third issue then was released in May and the fourth one in June later.

After 4 issues have been published, the people within the department who is not in the class also requests to get the copies. The number of membership is growing. The printing, binding , etc are also the workload for the only 1 person. Because of the busy call schedule in July, the first few months of transformation from CA1 to CA2, the more responsibility at work, the in-training exam., etc plus my own wish to do the web site. After the July exam, the idea of upgrading the paper based magazine to the web site version was begun and that was when I start to learn html.

The website finally was unofficially annouced in October, 2001. Many buttons and pages were not quite complete at that moment and many changes are still needed. I will continue to write, add, edit to make it better and better.

You will find many expansions from a paper-based magazine. Many features that are added from a paper version e.g. the important links, the call schedule link, lecture link, the discussion forum-resident cafe, etc.

Parts of this website that needed complicated codes and scripts e.g. resident cafe, gallery, try me, etc would never been complete without a great help from my best friend's brother - "Bank". I want to thank Bank for teaching me how to write simple html e.g.

After all, I wish the users (which are all my friends) enjoy and find the web site is useful. The payment that I recieved from making this is getting to know how to do the web site ! Thank you.
